About the book Invisible Oil:

Invisible Oil is an exploration of the artist Ernst Logar with the material of petroleum and its importance as a foundation of modern civilization on the example of Scotland's oil capital Aberdeen. In the course of his work the artist was able to access non-public areas of the North Sea oil industry get shut. The resulting photographs and correspondence with the activities of oil companies will be documented as well as the numerous works that have been developed from the crude materials and manufactured. The resulting objects reflect our current civilization dependence on oil and reflect this in a penetrating manner.
