Wednesday, 11 May at 8 pm

On Wednesday, 11 May at 8 pm we kindly invite you to attend Video Evening at Photon, dedicated to Noemi Veberič Levovnik, an artist who has in the past decade created a substantial body of work of multimedia and cross-disciplinary works.

Noemi Veberič Levovnik is active in the field of performance art, music, various forms of visual art and moving image. The latter is largely an extension of her live performances – a means of documentation and at the same time creative manipulation. In her practice she is focused on different episodes of one’s everyday life from intimate or social point of view; she searches for new identities, reflects on the unspoken, browses the subconscious and tests boundaries between reality and fantasy. Her works are on the first glance self-referential but at the same time distinctly universal and socially involved.

On the Video Evening at Photon the works from the Mask series that represent the bulk of her film/video creativity of the past four years will be screened as well as recordings of the performances and some earlier works containing performative elements.

Duration of the screening: approximately 60 minutes

Noemi Veberič Levovnik (1985) spent a year working with the theatre company La Strada, in Troyes, France. She graduated from Film and Fine Arts at the University of Paris 8 and from Contemporary Art at the Ecole supérieure d’art de Quimper. Her artistic practice is at the constant intersection of different artistic disciplines, techniques and media such as drawing, painting, installation, sound and music, photography, performance and artists’ moving image. Currently she lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia
