Photosuprematists

Károly Minyó Szert, Anikó Robitz, Bálint Szombathy

5 – 30 May 2016

The Photosuprematists exhibition showcases the works of three contemporary artists from Hungary who in their creative process embrace the principles of avant-garde artists.

In 2015 the world has celebrated the centenary of the emergence of Suprematism which in fact was personal style and life philosophy of Russian artist Kazimir Malevich. In his series of paintings he denied the common idea of objective representation.  The works presented on this exhibition do not relate to the Suprematist tradition as a systematic pattern, that is to say they do not desire to illustrate Malevich’s doctrine. The Suprematist attitude is already present in the creations, as a result of a long process of self-development behind which there is a genuine human-creative sensibility. The project simply enhances the unique historical moment, confirming, amongst the broadest international environment, the high standards and the quality of Hungarian contemporary photography.

Artist Bálint Szombathy invited two of his artistic colleagues, Károly Minyó Szert and Anikó Robitz to join him in a joint exhibition and confronting of their works that contains the true Malevich’s idea of pure sensibility.
