Group exhibition of the 12th International Competition for Young Photographers

The group exhibition of the 12th edition of the Photon International Photography Competition will present the work of the selected ten finalists. The competition is open to young artists (up to 35 years of age) in the field of contemporary photography from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Through the competition, Photon encourages original photography that demonstrates originality and innovation in both formal approach and in the choice of themes and concepts. The competition does not have a prescribed theme, but the final selection often includes works that fall within a wide range of photographic and photography-related practices. Through a group exhibition, we present the latest production in contemporary photography from this part of Europe.

The selection of finalists was decided by a four-member international jury consisting of:

• Gábor Máté, Hungarian photographer, professor and head of the Department of Photography at MOME, Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest.
• Peter Koštrun, Professor of Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.
• Ivana Tomanović, Professor of Photography at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad.
• Sara Nuša Golob Grabner, independant curator for photography and contemporary art.
