Photon Gallery invites all photographers and artists using the medium of photography to a special event where you will have the opportunity to showcase your work and gain expert opinions from some of the leading national and international experts in the field of photography. The Portfolio Review event is aimed at both beginners and experienced photographers and offers participants unique individual reviews and commentary on their work.

Why participate?
Participating in the Portfolio Review allows you to connect with people who can influence your future artistic development, and potentially your career path. In addition to evaluating your work, the review can also open up opportunities for future exhibitions and other collaborations.
At the end of the event, a panel of experts will select the best participant, who will be given the opportunity to participate in the Photon Gallery program over the next two years.
Event details
The portfolio reviews will take place on 26th of June 2025 from 10am to 6pm at the Photon Gallery in Ljubljana. The event is organised as part of the Photonic School and the the 13th edition of the international competition platform Different Worlds – finalists of which will showcased in an exhibition opening on the evening of the same day. One or more experts will be available to participating photographers, with each session lasting approximately 20 minutes. The price for a meeting with an expert is 20€ and the price for the entire day is 100€ (50€ for students). Once your application has been successfully submitted, you will receive instructions and information on how to pay for your participation.

– Tomo Brejc, internationally renowned photographer based in London.
– Sara Nuša Golob Grabner, independent curator of photography and other contemporary art, critic.
– Branko Lenart, internationally renowned photographer and former professor of photography in Graz.
– Sabina Salomon, curator at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka.
– Dejan Sluga, curator and director of the Photon Gallery.
– Sonia Voss, independent curator, researcher, and author specializing in photography, working between Paris and Berlin.
– Maša Žekš, independent curator and critic, editor of the online platform Koridor križišča umetnosti (Crossroads of Art).
Important
The event is currently scheduled for one day (26th of June), but may be held over two days
in the case of a large number of registrations. If a particular expert is overbooked, we will offer
you an alternative in the form of another expert from the same field.
How to register
To register for the event, please send an email to info@photon.si with your name, address and a description of the project with attached files or links to relevant content. In the case of using the student offer, proof of study is also required. If you will not be attending the entire day reviewing process with all of the experts, please submit a list of selected reviewers.
