Jasna Hribernik (Maribor, 1959) is known to the Slovenian public as a film director and a video artist, whose productivity, exceptional breadth and skill of film language in connection with the exploration of video media is admirable. Hribernik expresses her worldview in terms of questioning of freedom in a variety of forms, human dignity, spirituality / materiality and combines the exploration of different possibilities of using the media in a formal sense. She designs a space of video projections in an almost sculptural or architectural mode where the projection surfaces break, band and float in a complex video, audio and spatial layout of so-called “videospace”.
