Voices Off Festival 19th Edition – call for Submission. Voies Off offers an alternative approach to emerging contemporary photography, its particularities, its evolutions, and its areas of resistance. Every July, the Voies Off prize is awarded by a jury of renowned professionals to an artist for the clarity of his/her vision and the high quality of his/her work. The current amount of the prize is 2,500 euro. Deadline: 10 March 2014.
Backlight Photo Festival – open call for artists and photographers to participate in the Backlight Photo Festival 2014 in Tampere and the Tampere region, Finland starting in September 2014. The submission is open to all photographers and photo-artists. There is no restriction regarding the age or nationality of the applicant. Also groups and collectives are accepted to participate. Through variety of photographic practices Backlight ´14 is to explore the forces and binds holding societies, communities, families and friends together and apart. We wish to address and explore different visual representations of alternative practices and immaterial values dealing and breeding within social, political and creative engagement in the era of social, spiritual and economical depression and uncertainty. Our focus is on the phenomena of peoples´ solidarity (and the lack of it) that incorporates individual as well as collective responsibility. Deadline: 15 March 2014.
KAUNAS PHOTO Festival is calling for photographers / visual artists to submit series of photographs, photography-related videos or installation projects on the theme ofMUSEUMS, GALLERIES, EXHIBITIONS, art fairs, festivals, etc. The 11th edition of KAUNAS PHOTO festival will be launched on May 23, 2014, while the main program of the festival will run from September 4 to October 12, 2014. Among the interesting subjects could be: process of installation of exhibitions, backstage of museum / gallery / fair life, audience, empty halls and lines to enter museums, openings of exhibitions and launching events, etc. The call is open to photographers / artists of all ages, nationalities, countries of residence and to all creative methods: from reportage to conceptual works. Noorderlicht – submitting work for Noorderlicht festivals, exhibitions and projects. Professional photographers and curators are welcome to submit their work or proposals throughout the year. We are always looking for interesting, innovative and high quality work for the annual Photofestival, the exhibitions in the Noorderlicht Photogallery and for contributions to the Noorderlicht Projects.
