Mateja Petaković, from the series Water and Rock

Saturday, November 14, at 10:00 a.m.

P – Space for Photography, Koroška cesta 21, Maribor

The series Water and Rock brings together photographs taken during various periods of Mateja Petaković’s creative career. She views photography as a way to step away from the constant flow of thoughts, allowing her to fully immerse herself in observation. The artist isolates individual moments and, through a combination of various creative processes, gives them a new form. Visitors are invited to pause for a moment within them and become part of a space where they do not have to search for answers, create meanings, or constantly strive for something, but can simply exist. In this context, detachment does not imply a lack of meaning, but rather a different way of establishing a relationship with oneself and the world.

Mateja Petaković (1998) is a photographer from Ljubljana who began exploring photography at the intersection of personal creativity and professional work. Today, she pursues it as an independent artistic practice that remains a space for free exploration and personal expression, while her work in the field of photography is gradually expanding into the professional sphere as well.
