Different Worlds 2020
Exhibition of the 8th international open call
for visitors from 21 to 23 December 2020
The group exhibition of the 8th edition of the open call Different Worlds 2020, showcases the selection of projects by ten finalists of the Photon’s photography competition for young emerging artists in the field of contemporary art photography in the CEE region. The show presents an insight into the latest trends and tendencies in contemporary photography in this region. There was no prescribed theme of the competition, however, the jury favored works which exhibited originality, technical competence, unconventionality, and innovation both in their formal approach and in regard to the selected themes and concepts.
The selection of the artists and the works was in the hands of an international 3-member jury, composed of Olja Triaška Stefanović, the head of the Photography Department at the VSVU in Bratislava; professor Roman Bezjak, the dean of FH Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and course leader of the Photography department at the same university; and Špela Pipan, curator at Photon Gallery.
The first prize, the amounts to 1.000€ for the production cost of a solo exhibition at Photon Gallery in 2021.
