Exhibition of the international open call for young photographers.

The group exhibition of the 11th edition of Photon’s international open call presents the works of the ten selected finalists. It was frist presented in Ljubljana at Photon Gallery and Kino Šiška in September 2023. The annual competition is aimed at young photo artists (up to the age of 35) in the field of contemporary auteur photography from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). With this competition, Photon promotes original photography that demonstrates originality and innovation both in its formal approach and in its choice of themes and concepts. The competition does not have a fixed theme, but the final selection often includes work that falls within a broad spectrum of photographic and photography-related practises. In a group exhibition we present the latest production of contemporary photography from this part of Europe.
The selection of artists and works was decided by a three-member international jury consisting of Vladimír Birgus, Thomas Licek and Maša Žekš.
