Vanja Bučan is representative of the new wave production in the field of contemporary art photography with her career explicitly focused on broader international scene. She is currently completing her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Den Haag (Netherlands), while at the same time she is continually producing concluded photographic cycles. Yet unveiled photographic and video project, entitled “Fools and Follies” will be presented in Photon Gallery for the first time indicating the continuation and upgrading of current trends in her oeuvre, which is placed in the intersection of documentary and formally refined artistic photography. Vanja Bučan brought broader attention with the project ‘Second Floor’ (she received the first prize for Photography of the year Award), and also participated on group exhibitions “Photonic Moments” and “Luminatic – New Slovenian Photography and Video” where she presented the selection from the series called “Rebeccas Daydream”.
