Photon Gallery at Photo London 2026

May 14–17, 2026, National Hall, Olympia, Booth H03

Photon Gallery will once again participate in the international photography fair Photo London, taking place from May 14 to 17, 2026. As one of the leading global fairs dedicated to photography and visual art, it brings together top international photographers, galleries, curators, and emerging artists each year.

This year, the fair presents galleries from Central and Eastern Europe in a special Focus section, with Photon Gallery among the selected galleries, which is presented at the fair for the sixth time. This segment offers a rare opportunity to get to know important photographic artists from individual countries, regions or continents in more detail.

In this context, we are presenting a curated selection of works by four important regional photo artists: Gábor KerekesaJaroslav RösslerjaStane Jagodiča and Branko Lenart.. The presentation reflects the development and specific role of photography in Central and Eastern Europe in the second half of the 20th century—a period marked by political constraints, yet also by remarkable artistic innovation. Within the context of socialist regimes, where photography was initially shaped by ideological control, artists developed subtle and experimental approaches that enabled personal expression and gradually established a dialogue with avant-garde traditions and modernism.

The featured artists represent diverse yet interconnected responses to this historical framework: Jaroslav Rössler, a pioneer of Czech avant-garde photography, explores abstraction and the constructed image through photograms and photomontages; Stano Jagodič develops an original visual language combining collage, conceptual approaches, and socially critical sharpness; Branko Lenart merges documentary and conceptual photography in his series, exploring themes of identity, labour, and perception; while Gábor Kerekes uses experimental photographic processes to examine the relationship between art and science, as well as the limits of human perception. With this presentation, Photon Gallery highlights the diversity and depth of photographic practices in Central and Eastern Europe and contributes to their broader international recognition.

The fair will take place for the first time at the new venue, National Hall, Olympia (Hammersmith Road, London W14 8UX), with a preview on May 13. You can visit Photon Gallery at Booth H03.
